Posting Guidelines

Welcome to the Bird Forums. Here are just a few common sense guidelines for posting.

Remember that this site is dedicated to bird lovers sharing their experiences and knowledge in keeping our feathered friends healthy and happy. It is a family site, and as such we don't allow profanity or "rude" behavior to other members.

Please remember that it is easy to misinterpret the written word, so pay careful attention to not be accidentally insulting. Emoticons or "smilies" (the little cartoon pictures ) can help express your intended meaning, so please use them as appropriate.

Things to avoid:

• Calling people names or implying mean things about someone.
• Respect the opinons of others even when you don't agree.
• Never post in anger.
• Be thickskinned. If you think someone is insulting you, reread what they've said and make sure you fully understand their meaning.
• Do not make purely argumentative or confrontational posts. Try to remember that this forum exists for exchange of information. If you aren't providing any information in your post, it's probably not necessary. If all you want is a fight, take it somewhere else.
• If you are coming from another forum, we welcome you with open arms. But, please do not discuss other boards on this forum. Our purpose is to provide a nice environment to talk about our feathered pets. Let's check any negativity at the door.
• Religious or political commentary. We have a diverse membership and we want to keep everyone comfortable and friends, so to that end we avoid discussing religious or political topics. If you are unsure about something that may fit in this category, just ask a mod and they'll be glad to help determine if it's ok or not.
• Pornography or adult content will not be tolerated in any form.
