according to Carolyn Swicegood on her Land of Vos Website Ekkies can become mature enough to mate 2-5 years of age, So there is a chance Mister could be starting to displaying mating behaviour. With some birds when those first surge of hormones start up they it can either go smoothly or sometimes a bit bumpy.

My poor little Tango (not an Ekkie, but turns two next month) had his little hormone surge this spring... tried to bite and kill everything in sight... He had a tough time, but he's doing ok, now.

Sounds like my senegal... he's so cuddly, but can turn into a madman for (to me anyway) very strange reasons. As long as I keep my books and my purse away he is fine

Oh yes, Tango, too! The silly little Meyer!

"Oh yeah.... head scratch.... liiiiittle to the right, yeah! Right there! Oooohhh, that's the spot... that's nice... You know what'd be nicer, though? If I BIT YOUR FINGER OFF, HOW DARE YOU TOUCH ME?!"
